Zoo Frankfurt
The Frankfurt Zoo, founded in 1858, presents over 4,000 animals in over 450 animal species on an area of 11 hectares. Over 800,000 visitors are counted annually. The animals are kept in different enclosures. The cat jungle with big cats like lions and tigers is particularly well known. There is a gibbon house and other monkey houses. There are numerous species of birds in the bird bushes and other bird halls. The Grzimek house for nocturnal animals, a rhino house, the popular meerkats and penguins. Fish, lizards and snakes live in the Exotarium.
