Wiesbaden

The Hessian state capital Wiesbaden has approx. 300,000 inhabitants and is known for its thermal and mineral baths. Both factors make Wiesbaden a spa and conference city.

Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden and Mainz are only separated by the Rhine and thus form a so-called double center with a total of approx. 500,000 inhabitants.

The banks of the Rhine are a good start for visitors, for example at the baroque Biebrich Castle or at the Schiersteiner Hafen.
You can also start around the Schlossplatz with the old city palace (today's seat of the state parliament) and the Hessian State Theater or at the Kurpark and there at the Kurhaus (with casino).

Suitable for a half-day excursion is the Neroberg with the Nerobergbahn cable car, and especially the pheasantry (Fasenerie) in the north for visits with children.

Wiesbaden is the seat of the Federal Statistical Office (Statistische Bundesamt) and other federal or state-specific corporations.

The international riding and jumping tournament is a special event. Particularly beautiful festivals are the Wilhelmstrasse Festival, the Schierstein Harbor Festival and the Wine Festival in August.
